Ana Mendieta creates a spectacle by taking pictures with nature naked to show that the female body is natural, and it is beautiful. Everything in this world is natural, it is made in its own way, humans, animals, and the environment. It becomes unnatural though, when we begin to change the naturalness of something, such as the female body, to make an artificial model of what a female body should look like according to society. So for my selfie, I took a picture of my hand being held up in front of Lincoln Park, to show that my hand, that is connected to my human body is natural and is natural just like the park is and is natural just like Ana Mendieta and her photos.
