Khalil Stone - Power

"To photograph is to appropriate the thing photographed. It means putting oneself into a certain relation to the world that feels like knowledge -- and, therefore, like power."
This quote inspired me to use this image because it captures a moment in time where myself and two friends felt like we were on top of the world. To me, being on top or even looking down onto something shows a certain level of prestige when it is captured on camera. Therefore, in reality, nobody really knows what could be going on at that moment. In my life, I was always told to keep people guessing and that actions speak louder than words. Since it's hard to tell what going on in the picture, it forces an audience to ask questions about the concept behind the photograph which creates knowledge, which shows power.
